M. Katherine Sherman, Associate

Associate Attorney Katherine Sherman’s legal practice encompasses a wide range of business litigation including insurance law, real estate law, commercial law, and contract law disputes.

She is an invaluable team member at Wrobel Markham LLP, handling all matters from drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs on the trial and appellate levels, to participating in depositions and court appearances in both Federal and New York State Courts.

After graduating cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 2001, where she was on the National Sociology Honor Society, Katherine became a paralegal at Simpson Thatcher & Bartlett. Her involvement with the high-profile Enron securities litigation sparked her interest in pursuing a law degree. After serving as a summer intern to the Honorable Michael Ambrecht of New York State Supreme Court, Criminal Division, she entered Fordham University School of Law, and earned her J.D. in 2006.

Prior to joining the Law Firm of Wrobel Markham LLP, she spent two years as a law clerk in the Staff Attorneys’ Office of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. There, she honed her skills as a writer and researcher, preparing three to five bench memoranda weekly, and doing extensive research on procedural and substantive issues in areas that included employment discrimination, prisoners’ rights, habeas corpus, immigration, criminal appeals, and contracts.

Katherine is a runner and sports enthusiast. She and her husband, Nate, a Vice President Account Executive at Merlin Securities, also enjoy traveling, and spending time with family in Katherine’s hometown, Jacksonville, Florida.
